Last Updated: October 12, 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Peerakeet ("we," "us," "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the app. Peerakeet is currently offered as a beta service and may change at any time.

2. Who Can Use Peerakeet

You must be 18 years or older to use Peerakeet. Peerakeet is designed for adult users seeking anonymous peer support and personal reflection.

3. Our Services

Peerakeet provides tools for journaling, check-ins, peer matching, messaging, and reporting. Some features include AI-assisted moderation and AI-based matching. Peerakeet is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or crisis care.

If you are in danger or experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.

4. Beta Disclaimer

Peerakeet is in active development. Features may be added, changed, or removed without notice. While we take privacy and reliability seriously, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation during this beta phase.

5. Privacy and Data

Your use of Peerakeet is governed by our Privacy Policy. We process limited personal information to operate the platform, and we use secure partners covered by Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) under HIPAA.

6. User Responsibilities

You agree not to:

  • Impersonate others or share false information.
  • Use Peerakeet to harass, threaten, or exploit any person.
  • Post or send harmful, discriminatory, or explicit content.
  • Attempt to access data or systems without authorization.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

7. AI-Assisted Moderation

Peerakeet uses artificial-intelligence tools (including Groq + Llama Guard) to identify potentially harmful or unsafe messages. These systems support human moderation and safety—they do not replace human review or decision-making.

8. Referrals & External Support

Peerakeet may suggest certified peers or external support organizations. These referrals are informational only. Peerakeet does not endorse or assume responsibility for third-party services.

9. Intellectual Property

All Peerakeet trademarks, logos, text, and software are owned by Peerakeet, Inc. Users may not copy, modify, or distribute our content or technology.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access at any time for violations or misuse. You may delete your account at any time by emailing support@peerakeet.com.

11. Limitation of Liability

Peerakeet is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Peerakeet Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflicts of law. Any dispute shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Providence, RI, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. We will notify users through the app or by email. Continued use after updates means you accept the new Terms.
